Robberies, homicides, and sexual assaults are examples of the diverse forms of criminal investigations conducted by the Detective Division of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. The division’s 9 detectives fall under the direction of a lieutenant and sergeant with additional detectives attached to the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office also has a detective attached to the Regional Computer Crimes Education and Enforcement Group lab in St. Charles. A clerk is also assigned to the Detective Division to monitor and update sex offenders that reside in Franklin County.
